COURSE INFO

Level Intermediate. Previous knowledge in Grasshopper (basic level  Son necesarios conocimientos previos de Grasshopper a nivel básico (*) o haber realizado el curso de iniciación a Grasshopper

Instruction Language > English (basic). The instructor speaks Spanish.

Who is it for  > Aimed to proffesionals or students in engineering, architecture, design and backgrounds related

Requirements  >  It is neccessary to bring your laptop.

PROGRAM

The aim is, taking Grasshopper as base tool, to go further with the most popular and best rated apps in order to speed up processes and optimize geometries or calculations; a quite time consuming task to carry out without them. We will go through these plugins learning how they work, main features and advantages playing with practical exercises. 

We will highlight key concepts in advanced design, architecture and engineering: topology, form-finding, structural optimization, FEM, fractals, loops, genetic and repetitive algorithms...

Main plug-ins shown: 

Kangaroo. Most famous and downloaded app for Grasshopper. It is a live physics engine interactive simulation, optimization and form-finding directly within Grasshopper.

Galapagos , available in the current Grasshopper build, it is a platform for the application of Evolutionary Algorithms to be used on a wide variety of problems by non-programmers.  

Millipede is a FEM structural analysis and optimization component for the linear elastic calculation of frames and shell elements in 3D and 2D 

Anemone works using repetitive algorithms to create loops or sequencial structures like those ones seen in fractals.
